Slay The Princess is a psychological horror visual novel where you are assigned to slay a princess before she brings about the end of the world. The person who gave you that task is a voice in your head called The Narrator. He does not provide any information as to how a princess of all people could end the world if she were locked up in a basement. He only tells you that you should do it, or else there will be consequences.  

Within the game, you will face time loops and a different voice in your head. Each loop and voice will be different based on the choices you have made before. If you act aggressively, the princess will behave aggressively in return, and you’ll have a voice that’s keen on fighting. If you treat the princess as a damsel in distress, she will act as such, and there will be a voice that wishes to be her knight in shining armor. Whatever route you go through, the princess would be collected as a characteristic of her true self.  

No matter what conflicts you face, however, it is still considered a love story between your character and the princess at the end of the game. Each route could be considered the type of relationship you can be a part of and how you can either break free of a toxic cycle or keep yourself trapped in it forever.
