On March 28th, our own KMHS Orchestra put on a concert previewing their performance to be graded for LGPE. The bass choir and cello choir were also featured at the event.
The Phil Harmonia Orchestra played the pieces “Shaker Variation” by Jim Palmer, “Lullaby to the Moon” by Brian Balmages, and “Adra’s Dance” by Brenda McBrien. The Symphonic Orchestra played “Themes from Moldan” by Beldrich Smetana, “Agincourt” by Doug Spata, and “The Dance of Iscariot” by Kirt Mosier. The Chamber Orchestra played “I: Serenade for Strings C major, Op. 48” by Tchaikovsky, “Serenade for Strings on E minor, Opus. 20” by Edward Elgar, and “Phantom Tangos” by Brian Balmages. The Bass Choir played “Movement I in D Minor” by Rudolf Matz and the Cello Choir played “Eleanor Rigby” by the Beetles and “Movement 5 In D Minor”.
All levels of the orchestra put on a spectacular performance. Their LGPE Performance is on March 7th, and the KMHS Orchestra is sure to do amazing. Miranda Andrade, a bass in Chamber Orchestra, said “The concert was a great display of what we can do as a group. We’ve been preparing these pieces for the last two months for LGPE, and it was amazing to get to share all our hard work with our friends and family.”
The hard work that the orchestra has put in to master these pieces will definitely pay off during LGPE. Way to go KMHS Orchestra!
