Context: The following script was created for Dramatic Writing class with Mrs. Shiver. The assignment asked that students create an argument during dinner.

Character Trope: Lone Wolf

Character Name/ Description: Takashi: An ex- knight, wants to take revenge on those who betrayed him in the past, motivated by anger and revenge, his character flaw is his distrust of others- he doesn’t show much emotion most of the time. In this scene he’s wearing a black kimono with red patterns and appears ambitious.

INT. DINING HALL. – DAY

Takashi walks into a castle dining hall with high ceilings and marble walls covered in red drapes of different shades and sizes. Red pained glass paints a red hue through the open air. In the middle sits a long table wider on one side than the other. Across the table sits three chairs with tall, decorated backrests.

Takashi

I offer my thanks to The Trinity for gracing me with an audience.

Trinity: Eiji

It is rare for you to express such an ambition as to meet with.

Trinity: Sledge

We trust that you have something important you would like to share to us.

Takashi

That I do. I have asked the Trinity here today because I believe it is high time the Kingdom of Luminoshia falls.

Sledge

(Slams a fist on the table)

OUTRAGIOUS!

Trinity: Mene

Have you lost your mind! You want to go to war with the Holy Kingdom of Luminoshia?

Eiji

(Scowls)

The Holy Kingdom of Luminoshia is among the greatest powers in our world. You wish to send our beloved guild to extinction. I will not have it!

Takashi

(Glaring)

Luminoshia is powerful yes, but so are we, The Crimson Blades. Luminoshia used to be a great kingdom devoted to the God of Light and spreading their light to all who may need it. But now, all they are is a corrupt nation of greedy inbreds!

Mene

That may be true, but Luminoshia is still one of the greatest powers within our world. So much so that they have stood tall and strong longer than most kingdoms today.

Sledge

(standing over the table)

Even the former Demon King Garash and his “immortal army” couldn’t conquer Luminoshia. What you ask is to send out guild members towards certain death! You are foolish and naïve boy!

Takashi

Of many things that I am, naïve is not one of those. Have you no faith in those who have proven themselves many times over! Time after time, power after power, kingdom after kingdom, your Crimson Blades have fought and overcome the most demanding challenges and dire situations! Have you no faith in this guild you built from the ground to change the world from the shadows and vanquish those who poison it!

Eiji

Our faith is strong as it was when we founded this guild! Our faith has never wavered, not once! However what you prepose could be the extinction of our guild! Your obsession with Luminoshia is driving you mad! It will lead to your death! But your death doesn’t have to be ours as well.

Takashi

(Grits teeth)

Gone mad, Obsessed? Yes! But is it unjustified? No! Take one good look at me and tell me my rage is unjustified!

(Removes top to show thousands of scars across his body)

Tell me! My rage is unjustified. I had devoted my life to the service of my kingdom! I grew strong, rose through the ranks, never once questioned what I was told! And they betrayed me! All of them! They feared my power! They tried to kill me! But I shall not die. Not until there is nothing left of that god forsaken kingdom, its god forsaken people, and that god forsaken king!

Sledge

(Slams fists)

Quell your anger boy! We know full well what has happened to you. But you use your anger to justify an all out war with the strongest kingdom in this land! And you disrespect us! In our home none the less!

Mene

You have no right to take out your anger on u –

Takashi

You think this is my anger? Then you’re not as perceptive as you seem.

Eiji

You dare, talk to the trinity that way! We will no longer tolerate your impudence. We refuse to go to war with Luminoshia. Our position will not change. You may leave now.

Takashi

You don’t understand! Under the trinity’s approval us blades can –

Eiji

YOU- MAY- LEAVE. WE WILL NO LONGER HEAR YOU ON THIS MATTER OUR CHOICE IS DECIDED.

Takashi

(Stands up and bows)

Thank you for your time, Trinity!

(Walks out)

I bid you farewell.
