This spring was an exciting season for Mustang track and field. Top female sprinters include sophomore Kyndall Hudson and senior Grace Loehr, who both run the 400m, along with junior Erica Duncan who ran top marks in the 100m and 200m. Junior Elizabeth Rice led the distance team by breaking a 12-year school record in the 3200m, standing now at 11:07. Rachel Gould broke the sophomore school record in pole vault, jumping 11 feet this season. Freshman Charity Olagunju also had the leading long jump, clearing 15’1.

From the girls’ team, we had three athletes qualifying for sectionals and continuing on to the state meet: Grace Loehr, Elizabeth Rice, and Rachel Gould, who finished 12th, 4th, and 1st in the state respectively.

On the boys’ side, notable athletes include seniors George Mason, who lead the team in the 400m and Chris Greenidge, who ran at sectionals with his 1:58 800m, while junior Morris Kindler excelled in the 1600m and 3200m. Junior Myles Jackson had the quickest 100m time, and senior Josh Chatman qualified for sectionals with his 6’0 high jump.

Congratulations to the Mustangs on a very successful track season. With so much returning talent, the best is yet to come.
